VERSE 1
I’ve found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul
The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole
In sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay
He tells me every care on Him to roll.

CHORUS
He’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

VERSE 2
He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne
In temptation He’s my strong and mighty tow’r
I’ve all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
From my heart and now He keeps me by His pow’r
Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal.

VERSE3
He’ll never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here
While I live by faith and do His blessed will
A wall of fire about me, I’ve nothing now to fear
From His manna He my hungry soul shall fill
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face
Where rivers of delight shall ever roll.

Lily of Valley Bible verses for reflection

Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 NASB

How precious, O God, is your constant love! We find protection under the shadow of your wings. We feast on the abundant food you provide; you let us drink from the river of your goodness. You are the source of all life, and because of your light we see the light. Psalms 36:7-9 GNB

“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to announce these things to you in the churches. I am descended from the family of David; I am the bright morning star.” The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come!” Everyone who hears this must also say, “Come!” Come, whoever is thirsty; accept the water of life as a gift, whoever wants it. Revelation 22:16-17 GNB

I’ve found a friend in Jesus

No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. John 15:15 NASB

Our High Priest is not one who cannot feel sympathy for our weaknesses. On the contrary, we have a High Priest who was tempted in every way that we are, but did not sin. Let us have confidence, then, and approach God’s throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it. Hebrews 4:15-16 GNB

I Live by Faith and Do His Blessed Will

For our life is a matter of faith, not of sight. We are full of courage and would much prefer to leave our home in the body and be at home with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:7-8 GNB

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17 ESV
