At the Name of Jesus Hymn declares who the Lord Jesus in relation to God’s people. Christ is the King of glory. He is Lord as well as the mighty Word. Yet, faithfully He bore our sins at the cross, died like a worst sinner, but risen victoriously from death to give us new life. It is now our prayer that in our hearts we enthrone Him and there let Him subdue our whole being.

VERSE 1
At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow,
Every tongue confess Him King of glory now;
‘Tis the Father’s pleasure we should call Him Lord,
Who from the beginning was the mighty Word.
VERSE 2
At His voice creation sprang at once to sight:
All the angel faces, all the hosts of light,
Thrones and dominations, stars upon their way,
All the heavenly orders in their great array.
VERSE 3
Humbled for a season, to receive a name
From the lips of sinners, unto whom He came;
Faithfully He bore it spotless to the last,
Brought it back victorious when from death He passed;
VERSE 4
Bore it up triumphant, with its human light,
Through all ranks of creatures, to the central height,
To the throne of Godhead, to the Father’s breast,
Filled it with the glory of that perfect rest.
VERSE 5
In your hearts enthrone Him; there let Him subdue
All that is not holy, all that is not true.
Look to Him, your Savior, in temptations’ hour;
Let His will enfold you in its light and power.
VERSE 6
Christians, this Lord Jesus shall return again,
With his Father’s glory o’er the earth to reign;
For all wreaths of empire meet upon His brow,
And our hearts confess Him King of glory now.

At the Name of Jesus Hymn Bible verses for reflection
The attitude you should have is the one that Christ Jesus had: He always had the nature of God, but he did not think that by force he should try to remain equal with God.
Instead of this, of his own free will he gave up all he had, and took the nature of a servant. He became like a human being and appeared in human likeness. He was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to death – his death on the cross.
9 For this reason God raised him to the highest place above and gave him the name that is greater than any other name. 10 And so, in honor of the name of Jesus all beings in heaven, on earth, and in the world below will fall on their knees, 11 and all will openly proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:5-11 GNB
In your Hearts Enthrone Him, There let Him Subdue
You have been raised to life with Christ, so set your hearts on the things that are in heaven, where Christ sits on his throne at the right side of God. 2 Keep your minds fixed on things there, not on things here on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Your real life is Christ and when he appears, then you too will appear with him and share his glory! 5 You must put to death, then, the earthly desires at work in you, such as sexual immorality, indecency, lust, evil passions, and greed (for greed is a form of idolatry). Colossians 3:1-5 GNB
Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. He did not give up because of the cross! On the contrary, because of the joy that was waiting for him, he thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross, and he is now seated at the right side of God’s throne. Hebrews 12:2 GNB
At His Voice Creation Sprang at Once to Sight
Christ is the visible likeness of the invisible God. He is the first-born Son, superior to all created things. 16 For through him God created everything in heaven and on earth, the seen and the unseen things, including spiritual powers, lords, rulers, and authorities. God created the whole universe through him and for him. Colossians 1:15-16 GNB
Then God said, “And now we will make human beings; they will be like us and resemble us. They will have power over the fish, the birds, and all animals, domestic and wild, large and small. Genesis 1:26 GNB
Our Lord and God! You are worthy to receive glory, honor, and power. For you created all things, and by your will they were given existence and life. Revelation 4:11 GNB
